Membership

Q. How do I become a member of the Gulf Coast Council?

A. Simply by becoming a member of the Federation of Fly Fishers.  You can learn how your FFF membership benefits you, the sport and conservation of our natural resources here.  If you live in the states of Louisiana,  Mississippi, Texas (south of 32nd parallel), or in coastal Alabama or western Florida (Destin area), then you are automatically affiliated with the Gulf Coast Council. If you live outside these boundaries, you can choose to affiliate with the GCC by stating such on the membership or renewal form.

FFF 2010 Membership Incentives

Citing the need to increase members to support the Federation's growing Conservation and Educational programs, the FFF has announced several membership incentives for 2010.  Please take advantage of these incentives and help your Gulf Coast Council grow!  In addition, both clubs and new and existing members can enjoy some great perks.

FFF New Member Rod Incentive

On all FFF new member applications (including discount program), the applicant needs to indicate the name of the club on the referred line of the application. No abbreviations, please. The FFF office will keep track and award the club credits.  Each new application counts as 1 credit, except for youth where 2 qualify as 1 credit. Former FFF members who have not been a member for 3 or more years will qualify as “new”.

Once the club reaches 12 total new memberships the FFF office will contact the club president and ask for a choice of rod. The club president may elect to continue on to obtain 18 credits for the next level of rod.  Rods being used for this promotion are Temple Fork Outfitters. Check the TFO website at www.templeforkflyrods.com

Choices for 12 new members:

Lefty Kreh Professional Series TFO 5864P (8’6”, 4pc, 5wt) or
TFO 0894P (9’, 4pc, 8wt).

Choices for 18 new members:

Lefty Kreh TiCR X Series TFO 5904TX (9’, 4pc, 5wt) or
TFO 08904TX (9’, 4pc, 8wt).

Membership types which do not qualify for this Rod Incentive are:

Free - Disabled Vet memberships; Renewing FFF memberships, and membership received with incorrect dues.

FFF Clubs may use their rod rewards as they see fit, e.g., club raffle, prizes, auction items, etc. They may also obtain multiple rods throughout the year.

Keep those new members to the Federation coming!

What if your club is not FFF?   Either way...

Here's a golden opportunity to really take advantage of all these promotions and support the FFF and Gulf Coast Council goals of restoring, conserving and educating.

1. Do an FFF membership drive within your club. Sign up new members and have them turn the forms over to the club membership chairman.

2. The club membership chairman gets the club president to sign off on these. Once 12 or 18 new memberships are accumulated, the president then sends to the FFF Office the following: FFF membership forms, an FFF affiliation form, and a letter requesting to be assigned to the Gulf Coast Council.

3. All memberships, existing and new, are NOT included in the calculation of FFF club affiliation dues.

We encourage existing FFF clubs to pursue a similiar strategy. If you have any questions regarding these promotions, please contact:  Marc Pinsel - 985-543-0527 / 985-320-0716,   Mike Racca - 318-644-5830,  Kyle Moppert - 225-343-0867 / 225-610-5847, or the FFF Office - 406-222-9369.
